Achieving Maximum Altitude

Like most people, there are not many things I like about flying. Except for one thing! When I fly, I always choose the window seat and wait for the best part of the flight! I just love when the plane cuts through the clouds and soars above them. I absolutely love flying above the clouds and looking down onto a sea of puffy cotton balls! It is at this point, when the plane reaches its maximum altitude. It is a moment of stability, weightlessness and pristine beauty!

How can we achieve our maximum altitude? How can we obtain those moments in life of flying above the clouds? Life's goals and personal visions are a lot like packing for a trip! The departures may be different, but the destinations remain the same. Here are some flying tips to reach you closer to your life's destinations:

Pre-preparation! It is the little details that get you to your final destination. Booking the flight, hotel, choosing your clothes etc. Making a list and checking it twice! Prepare a list to make your journey to your final destination a pleasant one. What are the little details that you need to check off on your list to bring you closer to landing your goals?

Pack only your essentials! When we have a goal or mission in mind, keep focused on only what you need to carry to achieve them. Packing for life's goals is a lot like reading a book: take what you need and leave the rest! If not, your luggage is too heavy to carry!

Compartmentalize everything! When packing your luggage, there is a place for everything: your shoes, your suits and your toiletries. Separate your life's goals much in the same manner. The immediate tasks, your short term goals and your future long-range goals. Like your luggage, tag and label them and check them often!

Listen to the instructions! On any flight, we are forced (we have no choice!) to listen to the instructions and know what to do in case of an emergency and where the exit doors are. Do we listen to instructions, advice and creative criticism from our mentors or family members? Probably not! But, like that flight attendant, they are there to protect us and make our journey a pleasant one.

Letting your loved ones know where you are! We have a family pact. When I am traveling, I always leave my hotel info and flight #'s with my family. It not only shows respect, bit it is a way of keeping them informed of my journey. When was the last time, you informed your family/friends where you are in your life goal's, your dreams, your destination spot? Share your life's itinerary with the people who are most important in your life.

Encountering turbulence! I wish all flights of life were smooth sailing! In trying to reach our personal goals and missions, we sometimes will encounter air pockets and altitude shifts. Know that they are only temporary. Hold you breathe if you have to. Grab a friend's hand in panic. Know that your 'plane' will stabilize again. As the saying goes: this too shall pass!

Say a prayer! My sister is a white-knuckled, terrified passenger. I always joke with her and say that if something happens to me on a plane, at least I am closer to heaven! (To say the least, she does not appreciate the humour!). All joking aside, there are not many people who know, that when I fly, I carry my rosary in my pocket. I, invariably, always say a couple of prayers along the way. Touching the rosary brings me peace and some calmness. In the air or on land, know that your personal prayers do not fall on deaf ears.

Clap when you land! Many of us have been on flights, when the pilot lands us safely on that runway, that we give a round of applause. When you goals have been met, give yourself a round of applause. You have landed safe and sound!

Give thanks! When leaving a plane, the airline staff and crew are always at the door saying goodbye and wishing you a safe trip. I personally thank each and every one of them. When reaching your goal's destination, give thanks to those that helped you get there. We are not on this journey of life alone. Have an 'altitude of gratitude' for those who have helped you on your 'flight' towards your goals.

Enjoy your trip! Treasure your moments. Know that with every flight in life, you will reach greater heights, soaring with greatness above the clouds.

You Have To Start Somewhere

Why Goals Don't Work

I was talking to a friend of mine this morning about her financial goals for the year. After listening to her for a few minutes, I interrupted to ask how she felt about those goals.

There was a long pause. Finally, I asked if I could share my thoughts about goals - why I don't set them for myself, and why I think they're terribly limiting and frustrating.

By the end of the call, she was in tears, and I nearly was. I had been in the right place at the right time for her, and had helped her see a new way of approaching her business, her clients, and her whole life - a way that felt scary, but spacious and even inspiring in ways that traditional goal-setting just can't achieve.

Are you ready to try something new? Here's what I shared with her; I hope it will be as inspiring to you.

Goals are like Boxes
When you were a kid, it was fun to play in big packing boxes. But squashing your life into one is a very different feeling. And that's what goals do.

I've observed over and over again, with myself and with clients, that setting goals creates limitations - and panic! Once a goal is set, you immediately start thinking about it; you can't stop thinking about it. Everything you do is focused on achieving the goal. My friend saw all her potential clients as walking dollar signs- not very comfortable for her or for them!

"How will I meet my goal? What happens if I don't succeed? Will everyone think I'm a failure?" Then, as my friend commented this morning, there's always the "Oh, I didn't really mean that" thing that happens when a goal starts to feel unreachable.

On the other hand, when you finally reach your goal you think, "Ahhh... I achieved it. Now I can relax." And you put your feet up and take a deep breath. Whether you do this literally or figuratively, you've stopped. What amazing things would happen if you kept going? You'll never know.

An Invitation to Be
So I asked my friend, "Who would you be if you weren't so focused on financial goals?"

There was another long silence, but this one was full of electricity - I could almost see the exclamation marks flying in her thoughts. Finally, she said, "I don't know!"

"I've asked myself that question before," she added, "but it's always been what would I do. I never thought of asking who I would be."

When you start with an intention to be something special, to be more of who you really are, the goals you might have set are nothing compared to what you'll actually receive, accomplish, and experience. Just as I've seen people box themselves in with goals, I've seen them set themselves free with an intention to be.

The more powerfully you set the intention, the better. Set an intention that stretches you, that pushes you out of your habits, that makes you feel nervous and vulnerable. Set your intention with commitment and heart, even when it frightens you.

I know someone who was always giving. Immensely generous of spirit and in action, she felt threatened and vulnerable in receiving. When she set an intention to be someone who receives as well as giving, she knew it would be challenging. What she didn't know was how amazingly rewarding it would be. She received gifts of friendship, service, joy, peace, and love that have changed her life forever, in ways she could not have imagined.

And all she did was set the intention - and then she noticed whether she was being in alignment with that intention.

What will you be?

Education Leads To Success

Can You Imagine Living a Life in Peace

Imagine There's No Heaven, It's Easy If You Try, No Hell below Us, above Us Only Sky, Imagine All the People Living for Today. Imagine There's No Countries, It Isn't Hard to Do, Nothing to Kill or Die for, and No Religion Too. Imagine All the People Living Life in Peace. Think about It.

It's hard to imagine, with the information today and even 50 years ago that most people still believe in religions all over the world, just because they were raised to believe in them. Religions of the future will have to adapt to change, a little faster as more people read articles like mine to promote education within your religion.

Inner Drive

What I am about to share with you is probably the single most important thing I will ever share with you. Listen carefully because I know it to be true. If you do not have a powerful mindset but also an even more powerful inner drive, you will never be successful. The great news is it can be developed. It is not one of those things you either have or you don't, it is actually the exact opposite. So what am I talking about?

Recently I found myself in one of those positions I like to call "a cross road of life". I was faced with a major obstacle that for a second seemed impossible. Now, I said for a second because it had been a long time since I really was faced with an obstacle of such magnitude, but the importance of overcoming it had so much value. Failure was not an option. For a brief moment, I had forgotten what had got me to where I am today... my inner drive. Recently, I read an article in Mens' Fitness about the human wrecking machine Lance Armstrong and even though he is truly an awesome freak of nature . They said it is not his amazing physical attributes you have to fear, but his inner drive.

"There is no such word as can't!!!"

So I went to work and I went back to the basics. I did a tune up on my PURPOSE. My purpose for me has always been my kids. Recently I decided to take it one step further and said, "what if I make it about the neighbors kids, your kids," now my purpose has become that much stronger. Recently I had the honor and pleasure of hearing Author Andy Andrews,No Relation to me, speak. He said something that really hit home with me.

"I expect you to do well because my kids are depending on it. What you do affects my kid's future so I expect it of you". Andy Andrews

Wow, pretty heavy but oh so true! So here is the deal, if something is important enough you WILL get it done. If you find yourself continually falling short, not achieving your goals, you need to take a good look in the mirror. You will find that the problem is right there in front of you. Only you are responsible for your successes and failures.

I am here to tell you if you have not set your purpose, if you have not gotten it crystal clear, if you have not made it of the utmost importance to you, you will always fall short of your goals. It will always come back to your purpose and a strong purpose will create an unstoppable inner drive that will in turn develop a winning mindset. Thus I give you the formula for success. I promise you champions, if you have these 3 things.

1. Purpose
2. Inner drive
3. A winning mindset

You will not only have success in everything you do, you will be leader and you will be someone people will look towards and aspire to be.

"Dream it, believe it, achieve it, and remember it!!!"

Oh, by the way, I did conquer that obstacle and it was the sweetest victory to date.

Hope that helps.

Goal Setting For Success

Staying Motivated After the Conference High

I attend several seminars each year. During those sessions I join others in thunderous applause following a great presentation and like thousands of other conference attendees leave the hall motivated and full of ideas. But for most, that enthusiasm begins to wane as the reality of every day tasks begins to creep in. Here are five quick tips to keep you motivated after the conference lights have gone down and the applause has stopped.

1. Keep spiritual "Power Bars" on-hand
My father is a triathlete and when he is training he consumes large amounts of calories. On race day he meticulously packs the fuel sources that he will need to help him cross the finish line. Get your race-day package ready by equipping yourself with tools that will keep you motivated when your focus hits a pothole. Order some motivational CD's to keep in your desk drawer, and fill your bookshelf with books that empower you.

2. Push play
Remember that Risky Business scene with Tom Cruise? He runs; slides across the floor on his knees; and plays the electronic guitar to Bob Seger's I Like That Old Time Rock & Roll. That scene is classic and demonstrates the power of music. On the journey towards your goals, some days, even the smallest of hills will feel like a mountain. When one more phone call or extra hour of study feels insurmountable, harness the power of a song to evoke powerful emotions. Download your play list on your i-Pod or pick-up a CD that makes you feel strong, energetic and ready to take on the world.

3. Put Yourself in Time Out
Sometimes my son's energy gets the best of him and he lunges onto the couch or jumps on his bed landing on his little sister. After a few requests for him to settle down, I send him to time-out. He marches defiantly to the designated time-out chair and sits with his arms folded tightly. In moments, those folded arms soon fall to his side and before you know it, I can hear him singing a little song or talking to himself. Give yourself permission to take a time-out. Take a walk around the block or head to the restroom for a few deep breaths. These small time-outs will give you the calm and focus you need.

4. Treasure Mommy/Daddy Moments
I was late for a meeting and feeling frazzled as a result. As I fumbled through my purse looking for my junk drive, a paper butterfly covered in sparkles fell out of my purse. I laughed out loud and a feeling of self-assuredness came over me. My real purpose - my family and personal satisfaction - became clear to me again. Embrace the moments that allow you to laugh at yourself and remind you of what's really important.

5. Build Your Dream Team
I am a huge basketball fan and like most Americans I was devastated when the United States lost the Gold Medal during the 2006 Summer Olympic Games. In 2008, the legendary Coach Michael Krzyzewski made sure that the States' most talented basketball athletes were on the roster and the United States men's team capturing gold once again. Who is on your roster? Don't' leave reaching your goals to chance by hanging out with friends or colleagues who do not share your values or strive to be their personal best. Take a good look at your personal team roster and make sure that your innermost circle is filled with the best and brightest. Bench those who are draining and negative and before long you won't have to look far to get the motivation and inspiration you need to reach your goals.

The Power of Positive Thinking - Video

I Recommend Watching This Video and Then Picking up the Book If You're Interested in Any Spiritual Change

Just how big of a deal is Money in Organized Religion. Your money is used for various things and some of them, you might not really want to spend the money on. Something to think about.

If you want to read something funny and get your daily laugh in, you need to read this, it's funny Using Religion Responsibility. It's based on overindulgence.

The Power of Gratitude - Gateway to Riches

Gratitude is said to be the single most positive element to contribute to your Wellbeing, Fulfillment and Wealth

Heartmath conducted an extensive study which showed thoughts of Gratitude are the fastest way to move into your power and influence things around you with positive energy - Athlete's Performance increases, Students Test Scores improve, Executive Thinking and Creativity expand, Powers of Intention grow, no matter what he situation.

Gratitude restores confidence. Gratitude about your current situation - no matter what or how simple, will bring about a feeling of improved wellbeing. Gratitude can help to change feeling alone into appreciating being supported.

The feeling of lack and negativity are often brought on by focusing on what we don't or feel we cannot have. Expand your focus, raise your eyes, look outside your immediate surroundings. Walk around and look to see, or think, of the many things you have access to, which you have no need to own - community, sunshine, the stars, the sight or sound of children playing, a casual hello from someone you meet.

We can even be grateful for things that at first glance may not appear a blessing, such as: * Exercise you get if you cannot find a nearby parking spot
- Cleaning up the house after having friends or family around - think of the special time or what they mean to you
- The early morning alarm - moving into a new day of being needed
- Whatever your income - 2.4 billion people on the planet live on less than $1,000 per year

A large study conducted by Dr Michael McCullough and Dr Robert Edmonds involving more than 700 people separated their field of study into 3 groups of people - those that merely tracked events through their day, those that took particular note of unpleasant events that occurred to them, and lastly a group which focused on being grateful for whatever happened. The third group consistently showed High Alertness, Enthusiasm, Determination, Optimism, Better Energy, Less Depression and Stress, Better Inclination to Help Others, and Ability to Express Love to Others.

You must feel rich to become rich - when you start to feel grateful for whatever you have you will attract more. In today's world Intelligent Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ) are often thought as important but these both pale when compared with the direct benefits of GQ - Gratification Quotient.

The Power of Attraction which we hear about so much today as so well described in "The Secret" is supercharged through Gratitude.

Gratitude is the fastest path to Riches. Focus on what you have and more will appear. Others will be drawn to your energetic field of gratitude. Riches are more about what you feel than just counting in money. Another Heartmath study showed when we are in a state of gratitude others can sense this up to 6 metres away. This has a direct positive affect on their heart rhythm and their brain waves change to more positive thinking.

Pay attention to what you are focusing on, don't blame or complain this will drain your gratitude. Be grateful for your challenges, create a greater peace of mind and you will open the pathways for opportunities.

Watch out for negative attitudes creeping into your life. Apathy leads to negative thinking. Look for the silver linings in all situations. Slow down, recognise what you already have - especially the simple things in your life, wherever you go. Gratitude will help you feel complete, no matter what your immediate situation.

Gratitude doesn't cost anything but it generates huge riches.

You deserve to be Rich so be grateful and share your gratitude with others. A daily practice of Gratitude will lift and advance all areas of your life rapidly.

Religious Views Based From Fear

I was told by an advertising executive one day that all of your advertisements need to deliver some sort of hope for the people you're trying to persuade into buying your products. Funny, if you think about it, I got some and great advice about life from someone in the advertisement business.

Most people are looking for hope, in everything they do. Most of our daily activities revolve around hope and this gives our lives some sort of direction. If you believe in an almighty being and creator of the universe, often you will try to please him, ....or her, ....or it, in hopes of entering the kingdom of heaven or the promised land after you die.

Often our fears will increase our levels of hoping, the fear of doing something against your religion can often inspire you to become a more spiritual person, a good and moral person. Fear of making the wrong choices will inspire us to make better, moral choices, all for the sake of acquiring a ticket to Heaven or Nirvana. You're hoping, your good deeds on earth will earn you a place in heaven.

Most people are afraid of dying and leaving this world, for good. They don't know where they're going and that seems to scare most people. If we can offer someone a little hope, that they are going to a much better place than here, we can often ease the pain and suffering associated with death. I have to admit, most religions of the world promise another world, after we're done with this one.

If you're living a honest and moral life with the hopes of living a bountiful life in heaven, could you be wrong. What if you're seeking Hope in the wrong religion? If you're a Christian and the Hindus are right and you're wrong, do you get to enter there eternal kingdom.

Think about this question, I'm about to ask you. What if spend your whole life studying your religion and it's wrong? There is no heaven and when you die, that's the end of your existence

Have you ever wondered why you believe in your religion and someone in another country or even a couple of miles away believes in something entirely different.

Don't get mad at me or yourself, simply think about the question for a while, this question has transformed my life and put me on a wonderful spiritual path of learning.

Religious Faith Or Religious Fac

The Burning Desire to Succeed

You wish with your eyes but want with your heart. Desire is fulfilled with the heart.

It is the constant longing for achievement, the little voice inside that encourages you to fulfill your dreams.

It takes strength and intensity, backed with powerful, positive emotions and faith to accomplish your goals.

A passion so deep that it drives you to achieve your objectives no matter what obstacles you must overcome in order to succeed.

You will get what you want if you have a burning, intense passion to accomplish your goals and you take action to make your dreams a reality.

Everyone has the ability to get what they want. It is natural for the forces around you to give you what you want when you ask for it. Therefore, it is important to think positively about what you desire to achieve.

Anthony Robbins, World Renowned Expert on Motivational Thinking, said it best...

'By repeating an affirmation over and over again, it becomes embedded in the subconscious mind, and eventually becomes your reality. That is why you need to be careful what you think and believe, because that is exactly what you will get!'

Positive thoughts bring positive results.

As you look for ways to accomplish your dream, look to accept what experiences come your way and be grateful for them. Accept them with thanks and gratitude, and focus on having more of what you desire.

Isn't it interesting how happy people always seem to get what they want? I believe it is because they use what 'God' has given them, are truly thankful for it, and strive for more of it.

If you are unhappy about everything in your life then your experiences will be unhappy. Your negative attitude shouts, 'Forget it! Who needs this?'

Not the attitude that will make your dream a reality.

Have you ever heard someone say, 'Man, a black cloud follows me everywhere I go. If something bad is going to happen it'll happen to me'? And sure enough, that person continually pulls along with them that little black cloud. Surrounding themselves with all the wrong forces and creating a life of misery.

I prefer this positive definition of desire, 'The natural longing that is excited by the enjoyment or the thought of any good, and impels to action or effort its continuance or possession; an eager wish to obtain or enjoy.'

GO FOR YOUR DREAM with the intense hunger and passion to achieve success!

Many famous people have survived serious illness through their intense will to live and enjoy every moment of living. Adversity can be overcome through the power of a strong, intense desire.

Even those whose destiny is not life, they survive every moment with a burning passion to live.

What a positive way to overcome the obstacles by replacing negative thinking with positive thinking; enjoying and living your life to the fullest every day.

You can conquer anything you want when the desire to achieve it is filled with passion, a hunger so deep that nothing can stop you from accomplishing your dream. Take the time to write down your goals, visualize your success, and never wane from accomplishing your objective. The passion in your soul that never sleeps will open your mind to achieve what you believe in.

Failure is not an option... merely steps toward your achievement! You can, and will, achieve your dream successfully.

Positive Outlook Towards Results

I just had a bump with my exam results. I failed. Wow, I said to myself. I have failed for the first time in my life. Well, to shed my heart off, I was a bit depressed. My dad just told me a story which took my heart over the rod, I think everyone should understand this simple story. My dad surely impresses a deep wisdom on success and positive thinking. My dad is my role model, my mom is my role model-model. okay. lets start the story.

There is a game. All the competitors are running the race. Everyone is trying their best. Exerting full force. All of a sudden, one of the runner falls off, and gets his knees hurt. So, what does he do? what is the common sense running in his mind? Does he begin to cry? Does he get off the race? Nope. The common sense is that he gets up and starts running again. He tries to reach at his position again and finishes the race.

So, thats where the common sense comes into existence. If you fail somewhere, at some spot, that doesnt mean that you have to quit or stand still. Get aware of yourself (applies to me too); check yourself. The race is never over. Get over and start running.

If I failed in an exam, that doesnt mean I am going to loose every time. I should start working again. I should not loose heart and think that every one is given a day, to ask what every they want. And to me, its everyday.

Story is simple. But its essence will make me win in every think I will do after this day. The blog you are reading is the answer to lots of falls and rises. I deleted this blog more than 3 times before I took it seriously. Thats important.

Think and Grow Rich comes here too. Persistence is the principle this time. The principle of persistence is working when you stay exerting efforts. If you love a girl, love her so much, she will not find it anywhere, she will return to you and say I love you. I dedicate this post to my love. Love is a life time of examination, isnt it?

If you find this article useful, please visit my blog at http://thinkrichdiary.blogspot.com and read how I am using the principles of Think and Grow Rich and Law of Attraction to earn health, wealth and happiness.

Can You Tell the Difference Between Evil Profits and Good Profits?

I was reading through an article the other day about the Wiccan religion and they were very upset about a comment that the Christian website owner had made. I would like you to read the response from the Christians first.

"I was watching a police show on television some time ago, and saw a sting operation in which undercover police officers bought drugs from dealers on the street. Invariably, some of the dealers would ask, "You a cop?" The officer would say "no," and the deal was made. Satan often goes undercover. The Bible tells us that he can even masquerade as an angel of light. Just because a certain religion professes no belief in Satan, does not mean its adherents are not falling for his lies. It just means that they're unaware that they are. You said God would be disgusted by our judgmentalism. God has told us in His Word (The Bible) to watch for false prophets and false apostles. God has told us to contend for the faith. He has told us to evangelize. In other words, God has told us to do just what we are doing."

Here's something I would like you to think about if you consider yourself a Christian, read this very carefully.

"God has told us in his Word the Bible to watch for false prophets and false apostles." I would like you to read this statement a couple of times and see if you agree with it. How can you possibly tell who the false prophets are? Do you think that because you are a Christian and believe in Jesus or God, that you will know the difference between a evil profit and a godly one?

I often write articles and have written quite a few of them about religion and Christianity. Seems to be the one that I know the most about, so it gets the most attention from me. If I was to make a statement like the Bible has contradictions in it, would you consider me an evil profit. Someone working for the Devil. I don't think so, because it doesn't make sense, how could you turn a truth full statement into evil prophesies.

If I was to introduce you to a hundred people, could you tell me by looking at them or talking to them, which ones are evil and which ones are good. Most Christians would probably respond to that with, God knows and that's good enough for me. Everyone else who talks bad about Christianity will be considered evil or searching for the truth. They just haven't found Jesus yet, is that right, is that what you believe.

I found this response to the Wiccan believer to be one that I run into often. It seems unfair to others who aren't Christians and one-sided. Most organized religions have answers for everything, the problem is that some of the times these answers don't make any sense at all. If you're going to follow this part of the Bible word for word, shouldn't you follow all of the Bible word for word.

Leviticus 14:9 On the seventh day he must shave off all his hair; he must shave his head, his beard, his eyebrows and the rest of his hair. He must wash his clothes and bathe himself with water, and he will be clean.

Leviticus 19:27 " 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

This will make Christians easier to spot, a bald head with long beards.

Brainwashing People

Are Your Goals Worth the Effort?

When you set a goal, it is critical to assess whether the outcome will be worth your time and effort to achieve it. If the benefit is not at least equal to what you put in, then you can say bye-bye to keeping up your motivation levels. If your motivation is low, then it is unlikely that you will achieve your goal.

Here is a rather extreme example. If you wanted a bar of chocolate, but the nearest shop was 10 miles away, it is doubtful that you would walk that distance to get it. Although the cravings may be very strong, and you really wanted the chocolate, the amount of time and energy required clearly outweighs the benefits.

How do you assess whether a particular goal is worth your time and effort? The simplest and most effective way is to list the inputs (time and energy) compared to the outputs (achieving the goal).

It is always so much more effective when you write everything down. Draw the map first, and then follow it!

Let's take an example of a popular goal. Say you want to stop smoking.

Firstly, write down your goal. "I will stop smoking cigarettes on the 15th of next month".

On a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle. At the top of the first column, write down "INPUT". This is where you list what you need to do to achieve that goal.

At the top of the second, write down "OUTPUT". This is where you will list the benefits of achieving that goal.

In the INPUT column, write down the actions that you will need to stop smoking. This may include "Do not buy cigarettes" and "Chew a piece of gum when I would normally have a cigarette". Stick to the facts - write down the actual actions that you need to carry out.

In the OUPUT column, write down all of the benefits associated with you being a non-smoker. "I will have more money", "I will be fitter" and "I will have more energy". Brainstorm here - there are loads of benefits!

Next, review the entries that you wrote in the INPUT column. Assess the amount of time and effort that each action will involve.

For instance, the first statement was "Do not buy cigarettes". It is logical to assume that buying cigarettes would take time and effort (getting to the shop, carrying out the purchase, and returning home). It follows therefore that if you didn't buy cigarettes, then no time or effort would be needed.
"Chew a piece of gum when I would normally have a cigarette" would take no more time or effort than having a cigarette. Indeed, it would arguably involve less physical effort.

Once you have written down a number of Inputs, consider the amount of actual time and effort that would be needed for each. In the example above, there really is no physical effort or time involved. When you compare these with the tremendous benefits that you will derive from stopping smoking, it would be extremely difficult to argue that the amount of time and effort exceeded the benefits!

This exercise can be carried out with any goal you choose. Here are the steps again.

Write your goal down on paper.

List the Inputs and Outputs.

Assess the amount of time and effort needed against the benefits.

You will then be in a much better position to keep yourself motivated and to achieve your goals.

To continuing your success!

Self Help Tips, Creating SMART Goals

Creating S.M.A.R.T. goals is easy. These are goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely.

If you are creating S.M.A.R.T. goals you have a better chance to succeed.

They are very granular in natural. There is no ambiguity and there is a time frame for achieving.

If you are setting vague goals like this......"We will reduce operating expenses this year", you will probably get results that match. Vague, unmeasurable and not timely.

There is no way to measure the outcome because we do not know the specific destination. If your business is measuring its success like this you probably have employees who don't know if they are doing a good job or not and you probably are not achieving your goals.

A good example of a S.M.A.R.T. Goal is: "We will reduce operating expenses by 2% for the second quarter of the fiscal year". This contains all the elements that we need to reach our destination.

It is specific "reduce operating expenses by 2%, it is measurable, and it is timely. Of course it has to be attainable and realistic too.

Specific - A specific goal will contain enough detail to answer who, what, where, when.

Measurable - A measurable goal will contain an exact end. Answer the questions how much or how many is a good start.

Attainable - Goals must stretch you, but should be achievable with good effort. If they are not it could cause apathy because the goal seemed too far away.

Realistic - Do you think the goal is achievable? Can you get it done with maximum effort or will your maximum effort still come up short? Goals should not be easy...to the contrary. However, they should be realistic.

Timely - Set an exact start and end time. If you do not establish a start time, you will never begin. If you do not establish an end time you will never achieve your goal in a timely manner. Having a start and end time greatly increases your chance for success.

Creating these types of goals will help you achieve a higher percentage of them and this all adds up to driving more business. Let it work for you today.

Developing Real Psychic Power

In this article I'm going to cover a great tip for developing psychic powers and the magical and mysterious skill of practical clairvoyance. Many of us LONG to tap into the same stream of sensational skills that so many famous psychics, mediums and clairvoyants REGULARLY seem to access, and in my PERSONAL experience, ANYONE can learn how to cultivate these very same skills. So continue reading as I share my top tip for developing psychic powers of your own. Read on..:-)

Timeline Intuition

This is a great tool for learning to "map" your future by simply intuiting the past. It's a bit complex to describe in one short paragraph, but the essential theory is this: Our lives are, for the most part, pre-determined along a series or sequence of possible choices, and their consequential outcomes. Much of this is laid out as part and parcel of your "karma" so to speak, and the choices you make a long the path are fundamentally yours, and yours alone. (which lead to either soul development or regression) By looking back at your past choices, the IMPORTANT ones...you can map out a series of 7-10 important crossroads that you met, and you can track your current state of awareness (or life situation) DIRECTLY from which choice you made at each of those seemingly odd forks.

Future Extrapolation

You then take the very same thought process and apply it to the mapping of FUTURE forks that are upcoming (some schools teach that there are 21 major decisions we will each make in this lifetime) and by doing so, you are able to effectively intuit, or "see" (and feel) a very predictable future. It sounds harder than it is...trust me, it's not only a BLAST to do, it's very accurate, incredibly entertaining, and truly ILLUMINATING as a lens by which to look at your own higher purpose, and how to get there in a hurry! (even if it means BACKTRACKING a bit to get there..:-)

And of course there is SO much more....More that lies possible in YOUR life if you only open yourself up to the possibilities. Simply START by opening your mind, spirit & enhanced AWARENESS and ride the supernatural surfboard into the wild, wacky and wonderful world of the unknown..:-) It WILL rock Your WORLD...I promise..;-)

Bible Verses That Don

Learn Something About Time Management From the American Indians Working Four Hours a Day

I don't consider myself an expert on the American Indians but I would like to share a thought about their lifestyle. I was listening to an audio book on the American Indians eating habits, when it got me thinking about something the author said. This might not be a topic of interest for most people but I found it fascinating.

While listening to the audio book, the author made a statement about the American Indians I will never forget. He said "American Indians spend about four hours each day working, gathering and preparing food." If you think about it, that's not too bad of a lifestyle.

I would imagine that we have a better selection and larger variety of food to choose from than they had. This of course would be a benefit to living in our society instead of theirs.

American Indians often spent a lot of time outdoors and for some reason, spending time in nature seems to be a good thing. I know a lot of people that would rather be outdoors than indoors, walking, jogging, hiking, camping and even gardening. It almost seems more natural for us to be outdoors than indoors.

Now with the Indians working about four hours each day, this is a little bit different then our standard workday. Most people spend at least 9 to 12 hours each day driving to and from work and actually working. I would imagine our standard workday would actually be easier than that of the American Indian. I can't imagine some of my friends or family members chasing after a Buffalo with a spear.

Does this mean the American Indians had it right, just because they worked four hours each day and spent more time in nature were doing what they truly wanted to. Know I can't truly say that they had it right, but I can say that they seem to do just fine living with nature.

Some of these civilizations lasted for centuries.

Something to think about, on your daily travels to and from work as you desire to be at the beach or hiking in the mountains. The philosophies we often associate with a good life, could actually be better instead of progressively adding unneeded stress and frustration to it.

Request a Spiritual Blessing to Raise Your Vibration by Connecting With the Universal Abundance

For centuries Reiki and Spiritual Healing have been using the power of Energy Healing to bring about changes on the physical human body. Now Healers have introduced a new concept of raising a person's vibration by connecting consciously to this inner field of Bliss and Joy.

For many decades Healers have observed the power of positive thinking and of raising one's vibration by relaxing and releasing through connecting to the Higher-Self.

It is a well-known fact - demonstrated by physicists - that when we channel our positive intention to a person or situation we have a positive effect. This energy is transmitted telepathically by HealerGeorge during his Distant Healing work.

Healers has received many testimonials from people who have used a Distant Healing service to change their lives in positive ways, to flow in tune with the Universal Life Force and to benefit to the maximum from the support of nature. These effects are noticed as increased synchronicity and greater peace and harmony.

The drama of life seems to fall away as you become more consciously aware of what you choose to create. Positive thinking and action helps the abundance of the Universe to flow into your life.

Healers use Google Earth to create the energy conduit through which his healing flows to the client. Being able to see the client's home and its surroundings from above strengthens the telepathic connection which will raise the vibration of the individual requesting healing.

Some clients also email a photo, which is prints out and puts up on the Healing Board for the month period during which it is agreed to send healing.

Spiritual Blessings is a way that "well" people can also use healing to promote their spiritual blossoming, through a spiritual-level telepathic connection.

Please allow your Self to receive these Spiritual Blessings by connecting to a healer.

What is Distant Healing?
Distant Healing is similar to prayer and its advantage is that it allows patients to receive Healing energies just as effectively as if they were in the presence of the Healer. Patients receive Healing equally well even when they are too ill to know that it is being sent. Distant Healing is equally effective whatever the patient's beliefs, although a desire to get better intensifies the effect of Healing. Any aspect of the body, mind or spirit can be reached by Healing.

Yoga and Contortionism

A student once asked meabout the contortionists from Cirque du Soleil doing a pose called Scorpion. The question was whether anyone's back should be capable of doing this pose, or do the contortionists have some different joint in their spine that allows them to do this?

Contortionism is different from yoga--in contortionism, the aim is the posture, while in yoga, the aim is the effect that the posture has on our mind and nervous system to effect a deeper connection with our spirit. I encourage you to be completely unconcerned with attainment of postures, for that concern is not about yoga, it is about the ego.

Having said that, yes, practically all healthy backs should be able to do deep backbends such as the Scorpion. Cirque du Soleil performers often come to my classes, so I know their bodies well. Their spines are strong and healthy (with no different joints), except for the occasional contortionist who may have pushed too hard and had hairline fractures in the spine. In fact, my own teacher, the great B.K.S. Iyengar was extremely stiff in the spine when he started the practice of yoga.

Having worked with tens of thousands of students, I can safely say that, with practice, even the stiffest spines can change and become more supple. Please do note that it requires hard work under the trained eye of an expert teacher, but it can be done. Also remember that there is no need to do the advanced poses unless the body leads you to them. The reason to try advanced poses is that, as the body gets more supple with the practice, it needs deeper and deeper work to get results. You and your teacher will begin to sense the cues about when to go deeper as your practice progresses.

My suggestion is to "go for the pose" only if you are ready, your teacher is extremely knowledgeable, and your teacher has done the pose personally. If your teacher has practiced and refined the pose, she is more likely to know the ins and outs of the methodology. Please also realize that some spines may not be ready to do advanced backbends such as Scorpion despite years of preparation. Again, patience and detachment must be cultivated as part of the yoga practice, rather than setting goals of "getting there."

Create Your Day and Change Your Life - Video

Do you think it's possible for your thoughts to change her life. Do you think it's possible for you to create your own day?

Just how big of a deal is Money in Organized Religion. Your money is used for various things and some of them, you might not really want to spend the money on. Something to think about.

If you want to read something funny and get your daily laugh in, you need to read this, it's funny Using Religion Responsibility. It's based on overindulgence.

Dealing With Invisible Gods
Vibration And Universal Energy

Life Isn't About Finding Yourself, It's About Creating Yourself

BE brilliant at the basics. Be the change you want to see in the world. Be the first one. Be the only one. Be unforgettable. Be interesting. Be a sleeper. Be that guy. Be the worlds expert on yourself. Be better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow. Be confident enough to be humble. But be somebody who reminds everybody of nobody else in the world.

AND DONT wish it was easier, wish you were better. Dont sell, enable people to buy. Dont let the bastards get you down. Dont be weary in well doing, for in due season you will reap a great harvest if you faint not. And dont wait for the mainstream to validate your voice. Dont despise the day of small beginnings. Dont be selfish with your knowledge. Dont complain if you havent earned the right. And dont be different, be unique.

BECAUSE YOU are what you charge. You are what you believe. You are the books youve read and the people youve met. And you are an empty sheet of paper in the minds of every person you encounter.

AFTER ALL, the world cannot resist a man on a mission. The best swimmers are always in the pool. The sculpture is inside the stone. And the two greatest days in your life are the day youre born, and the day you realize why you were born.

AND if you are successful you will always have too much to do and too little time. If you arent being criticized, you arent doing much. And if everyone says youre out of your mind, you just might be onto something.

EVEN THOUGH, ITS not easy being yourself. Its not who you know, its who knows you. And its not the years, its the mileage.

SO, WORK hard, work long and work smart. Work like you dont need the money. And work from technique, because you never know how you will feel.

AND DONT FORGET THAT success leaves clues. That confidence is king. That credibility comes from specificity. That listening is not waiting to talk. And that a nice person who is mean to a waiter is not a nice person.

OR, TO tell the truth, to tell it all and to tell it now. To give value first. To paint yourself into a good corner. To allow customers to participate in your brand. To do the work once and benefit many times. To give yourself away. To respect peoples nos. To take massive action. And to act as if you already were the person youre trying to become.

THEREFORE, ALWAYS stand up, stand out or be counted out. Discover your Personal Differential Advantage. Learn to love your zone of discomfort. Greet each day with love in your heart. Show, dont tell. Make daily appointments with yourself. Never apologize for your art. Remember your Victory Dance. Work harder on yourself than your job. Find your one big idea. And always validate your existence, be yourself and do something cool every single day.

BECAUSE life isnt about finding yourself, its about creating yourself.

An Incredible Motivational Story

As a society we have looked up to successful people and those individuals who have overcome extraordinary feats of courage and determination. We all have our favourite stories and legends, but hearing others examples of how they overcame adversity is a great way to stimulate and to motivate ourselves into achieving our own goals.

We have all heard real life stories of ordinary people achieving extraordinary tasks, in fact it is often the task that makes otherwise ordinary people into legends. I would like to share with you one such story, I hope you find inspiration from it too.

Florence Nightingale - Nurse.

Was born to wealthy English parents in 1820, she was educated at home by her father and had a strict upbringing. Florence rejected marriage because she felt she would become entrapped by domestic responsibilities. She always felt she had a calling to serve, and in a time when respectable young ladies were expected to marry well, she refused and was not supported by her parents, who felt such a profession was beneath their status.

In 1853 the Crimera war broke out, it was a bloody war for both sides. This war received extensive press reporting and the stories from the battles shocked a whole nation, it was then that the legendary status of Florence Nightingale began. Florence went to the Crimera in 1855 and was asked to organise a group of nurses, initially cleaning the hospital though this would change when the hospital became overwhelmed by the number of casualties.

Florence soon blended her unique passion for cleanliness with her compassion for the injured and dying. Stories reached the English press of how comforting she was to the injured soldiers and her name became synonymous with caring. Florence Nightingale returned to England after the war and opened a school for Nursing at St Thomas's hospital London.

Florence Nightingale is not famous because she became a Nurse, she became famous because she thought outside of the box, did something she was not supposed to do, disobeyed her parents and followed her dream to help people and make a difference. It is easy to follow a path that is already marked out, but making a new path takes courage and determination, how easily she could have failed to achieve her goal, thankfully she succeeded, she has a place in history because she was motivated and determined.

Motivation and Determination are not Human Givens, they need to be learned.

Using Your Emotions to Create the Beauty From Within

Have you ever been in the room with someone who is truly beautiful? Are you entranced by the clothes, their looks, how their hair is done, how they walk, talk or speak? Where does beauty come from?

We have all heard the saying, 'beauty comes from within' which on the days that your hair does what it wants, you have chosen the wrong shoes to go with your outfit or you just don't feel your best, means nothing. Compliments are thrown to the wayside and you are not able to enjoy your accomplishments.

When you are experiencing those dark, ugly moments, what is going on in your head? Stop! Listen and hear what you are saying to yourself. It is true that you create your own beauty and it does come from within. What you say to yourself creates a light-filled beauty or a person from the dark side.

Your Self-Talk

Your self-talk is affecting your emotions, decisions and how beautiful you feel each day. Our thoughts affect our mood, our health and how we live each day. So, if you tell yourself that you are beautiful, guess what, you are. And that beauty will show in how people react to you when you are doing business, with friends or family.

Self-talk is a deeply ingrained, generational habit. It is like having a computer chip downloaded with instructions that you play over and over and believe is your reality.

These habits can even be measured. There is an evolving research field known as positive psychology. Dr. Sonja Lyubormirsky, in her book, The How of Happiness, states that as much as 40 percent of our happiness "is left for the intentional activities that we can choose to engage in . . . the things that we do and think every day of our lives."

By engaging in thoughts of self disapproval we bury our beauty under dark, negative feelings about ourselves. It affects every aspect of our lives and limits our possibilities.

Learn to create your most beautiful self by monitoring how you are feeling. When those dark moments appear, watch them, stop them and search your mind for an alternate, beautiful way of seeing and feeling about yourself.

The following exercise is one of the most powerful I have ever done. You may surprise yourself at how beautiful you are.

1. Write about how you see yourself. Include the dark, negative aspects that you hear yourself saying constantly. Be brutal, this is the ugly, dark side.

2. Write about who you want to be. How beautiful, wonderful, delightful, kind, enjoyable, exciting, loving, great, accomplished . . . etc. You know that person you see when you walk in a room that you want to be around because you feel so great when you are with them. Write about that person, it is you.

When you are done writing these two scenarios, read them. They are two completely different people. You will probably surprise yourself seeing how wonderful you are. Keep the one about your beauty close and read it often. This is the person you are and can become with practice.

Some other suggestions:

Be aware of what you are thinking

Shoot down those negative thoughts with positive ones

Find some books or CDs on positive self talk

Use them daily

Envision a world of beauty with you in it

Work at saying only positive statements

As you are creating your own beauty make sure that you spend time each day noticing the beauty around you. When you appreciate this beautiful world your beauty becomes a part of it and you will carry it with you everywhere.

Find your beauty, carry it with you and give it to others. Your beauty is needed in this world.

Overcome Limiting Beliefs - How To Break Free From Limiting Beliefs and Set Yourself Up For Success

Limiting beliefs are things you believe that hold you back and keep you from being successful. There is a wide range of limiting beliefs:

I might fail. That would be terrible

I'm not good enough

I'm not clever enough

I never get anything right

Nothing ever works out for me

The world is a scary place...

I'm sure you could add to this list!

The good news is that you can overcome limiting beliefs and live life without the chains that have been holding you back. Once you're aware of your limiting beliefs you can begin work on clearing them away by telling yourself the truth.

Replacing limiting beliefs with the truth is essential for you to be truly fulfilled. Negative self talk and limiting beliefs hold you back and limit what you do with your life. It's time to eradicate limiting beliefs once and for all.

You talk to yourself all the time. What are you telling yourself about you and your world?

Changing what you tell yourself is a key to changing how you feel about things and will pave the way for success.

If you follow these simple steps you will be on the road to breaking free from limiting beliefs and build a solid foundation for future success. You can overcome limiting beliefs, step out of your comfort zone and achieve your goals.

Ask yourself "What am I assuming that is stopping me from asking for a promotion/accepting that invitation to speak at the next meeting/becoming a writer/setting up my own business/having a go/buying my first home...?" Just insert what's relevant to you in place of the examples.

Now ask yourself if there's anything else that you're assuming that's keeping you from taking action. Only stop when you're sure you have uncovered all your limiting beliefs.

When you've done that ask yourself, "Which of these assumptions gets in my way the most?" It will often be a belief about yourself, or about the way other people see you, that's getting in the way of you achieving what you really want to achieve.

For example, "It's not that important", "I've never been any good at this", "It's not okay to make mistakes", "I'm not lovable", "I might make a fool of myself", "What would my friends think?" "it's too scary."

Once you discover what your limiting beliefs are, think of their opposites and write them down. For example, "If it's important to me it is important", or "I could do this if I found someone to show me how", "It's okay to make mistakes, making a mistake is just a way of learning how not to do something".

The key is to alter your mindset by eliminating recurring negative patterns. You can do this by replacing the lies you have believed about yourself with the truth.

Whenever you find a limiting belief resurfacing immediately replace it with the truth.

You might find it helpful to write your new empowering beliefs on card and keep them with you. Take them out and read through them whenever limiting beliefs threaten to stop you in your tracks.

"Our emotions are not created by what happens to us; rather, our emotions are created by what we tell ourselves about what happens to us."

Do yourself a favour, uncover the lies you've been telling yourself, tell yourself the truth, break free from your limiting beliefs and set yourself up for success.

It's a Great Day

So what defines a "great day"? Everyone has their own personal definition so allow me to share how I define a great day.

For some a great day is when:

You come into a large sum of money

You finally got the person's attention you were longing for

Your partner said "yes" to marry you

You finally got pregnant

You or some one you love recovers from an illness

You finally paid off your mortgage or car loan

You won an all expense paid trip

You met your fat loss goal

Your funds are on the up swing with a good return

Those are a handful of what we would label a great day, because something good happened to us or someone we're connected to. Though each of those events are warranted to be labeled a "great day", they do not (in my opinion) really convey the true essence of the greatness of that day.

Shouldn't a great day be defined not by the events of what occurred, but by how you handle yourself throughout the day?

Someone cuts you off while driving and you hold your cool; you receive less than excellent customer service care and you don't flip out, you find yourself at peace as you go about your day even though all your life's events aren't lining up exactly the way to want it to just yet. The cheque you were expecting is a bit delayed, and your personal bill payments are coming due in 5 - 10 days, but you are still unflustered and at peace knowing that it will all work out.

If my great days are based only on the successful outcome of the events of my day, then I could very well be in for a rough miserable day or days. This means that every time something doesn't go my way it erodes the potential of me having a great day. Now when we look at it that way, doesn't that sucks big time?

It's a great day -when you're at peace, where there's no urgency to rush, to get up tight, to struggle and fuss. A day regardless of the events good or bad, you're at peace, content, resting in knowing that you have full control of chartering the course of your emotions, and when events do manifests in ways you're expecting that would be an added boost to your already great day.

I am the music, the song, and the dance. My life is the whatever expression I choose to give it. I decide how fulfilled or not I'm going to be; my faith or lack thereof, the positive or negative attitude I decide on embracing or rejecting. I am given "today" to live, so I'm going to give it my all and live the best I can for today.

Putting God on Trial

I was listening to something interesting the other day when someone mentioned putting God on trial for some of the atrocities in the world. If God is the creator of the universe and all that is, or all that ever will be, how can we put him on trial, he's our creator. We can't put our spiritual master on trial can we, he'll just escape anyway if we convict him, won't he. He's got to be smart enough to break out a prison.

As a child I often thought about God and why he would allow such suffering throughout the world. It never made sense to me when I was child and it still doesn't make sense to me today. Why would the creator, want us to suffer, with even the littlest of problems. Other religions have explained it as if God was teaching us a lesson and that's why we have hardships in our lives.

Do you think God ever went through these hardships? Did God have problems finding a job or gathering some food? Does God even eat? Okay now I'm getting off the topic here,(I wonder what God does eat)... if children do something wrong, most of the time their parents will discipline or correct them. If adults to things wrong, the government will discipline and reprimand them. Sometimes these punishments can be severe. It depends on the crimes committed.

If man has to be put on trial for committing crimes like murder, genocide, and general atrocities towards mankind, should God also be put on trial or is he above man because he's God. I can't imagine the creator of the universe ever being put on trial for man's crimes against humanity or other men, but it seems like someone who is all powerful and all knowing could help his children out of this little mess that we're in today.

Couldn't God help us like we help our children. We as parents might not have all the answers, but we do not claim to have them. We are not all powerful and all knowing, like we would assume God to be. When is God going to help us solve some of our major world problems, like genocide and starvation.

Putting God on trial might not solve all of our problems today but it would be nice to have some help with our problems. If he created us to please him, do we have to go on trial one day, for all the things we did or ignored while we were alive. Something to think about isn't it.

Is Alcoholism a Spiritual Void?

"Anyone can stop drinking" you've heard the phrase, "but can they stay stopped"? It's common knowledge that when you take a 'thing' away it creates a void and must be replaced. Take a glass of juice for example. When you fill the glass with juice you've replaced the air with the juice, so when you drink the juice, you've replaced the juice with the air. Can you see the air? No!

When an alcohol-obsessed individual stops drinking, he or she is left with a void. Just like the glass of juice. You don't see the booze now but how do you fill that void? Food? Sex? Drugs? Spending? Gambling? These choices either desensitize or over stimulate.

It's imperative to understand that the obsession for alcohol in a person's life is actually a need to fill some void. At some point in that individual's life that void was satisfied with alcohol and it felt gratifying. Joy to some extent. If we can understand this concept we have hope to find a better replacement other than food, sex, drugs, spending, or gambling.

So then, what healthy replacement can fill that void?

In his book, Ecstasy, Jungian psychologist Robert Johnson, makes a clear and pertinent point, he says that addiction is nothing other than a severely degraded substitute for the true experience of joy. So how do we access this true experience of joy?

As human beings, we have an inherent need to experience some type of joy in our lives. As basic as food, water, air, shelter, and clothing, joy to some degree in our lives must be part of what differentiates between real living or merely existing.

The awareness that you are body, mind, and spirit is nothing new. This concept gains more credibility when you realize that you can live a fulfilling life by balancing all three. Your body and mind can be easily nourished, but what about your spirit?

Where can you go to fill your spiritual need if you're an alcoholic or think you may be? A support group. It's a start. This is not a substitute for alcohol, but a group of people in the same boat seeking the same outcome...a better quality of life.

Getting back to the glass of juice, spirit like air, is invisible, you don't see it, but you see the results. You see the power of the air in waves in an ocean or prairie grass in an open space. It's in the spiritual experience that you come in contact with true joy and fulfillment. You've heard it said that you're a spiritual being having a physical experience, that means you have spiritual needs that must be met.

Believe it or not, spiritual nourishment may be attained by seeking a healthy support group. This is not a substitute for alcohol either. It's an avenue to a more balanced life for body, mind and spirit. Some seekers come for a short time, they get what they need and move on, others stay a lifetime for the unique and priceless friendships they develop. The choice is up to the individual.

Powerful Themes in Spiritual Healing

I would like nothing better than to publish a list of phone numbers of healers who would cure any disease or illness for you over the phone. I don't have such a list. What I do have are some powerful ideas about spiritual healing.

A consistent theme has emerged in my research into spiritual healers. No matter how they describe their healing technique, true spiritual healers are somehow aware of a divine spark in every patient. They have the ability to see beyond the troubled body and focus attention on the perfect being inside.

In the 19th century Dr Phineas Quimby described healing as the realization that the primary self was created and reared in the image and likeness of Wisdom for health and freedom, spiritual living and spiritual progress. This primary self "is not sick, does not sin, is not really the slave it appears to be." (The Quimby Manuscripts)

Energy healers talk about re-connecting you with your original nature. Reiki is a Japanese spiritual and healing practice. Reiki practitioners talk about reminding us of our natural connection and giving us the faith to let go and to reap the benefits of being in the natural flow of life. Noted energy healer Barbara Brennan describes a human energy field that is the manifestation of the universal energy that is intimately involved with human life.

Bradley Falk in Florida says that "healing is an address the healer guides you to."

Healers help us focus beyond the body and in the process the body is often healed. Undoing our current view of reality and understanding how that view forms our experience is the foundation of Toltec wisdom taught by Don Miguel Ruiz.

No one likely feels more sick or troubled than Eckhart Tolle felt the day he had his moment of spiritual awakening. The way he tells the story, his own emotional pain had grown so intense he was ready to explode or die.

Eckhart Tolle recalls thinking, "I cannot live with myself any longer." He then became aware of a startling thought. The idea that he could no longer live with himself indicated an "I" and a "self". In other words, two separate voices. He began to wonder if maybe only one of them was real! This was his epiphany. At that moment he heard a clear voice that spoke the words, "resist nothing".

The Sedona Method teaches a systematic approach to resisting nothing and living in the joy of the moment. Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is within but men do not see it. Healers guide us to it.

Soul Mountain - (A Nobel Prize Winning Novel By Gao Xinjian)

Soul Mountain (my views)

Gao Xinjian is the only novelist from China who has the honor of winning the Nobel Prize for Literature for his memorable novel 'Soul Mountain' which has set a new trail for the Chinese novel. It is an autobiographical social commentary that has significant place for the supernatural in its plot. It describes the self-imposed exile in Sichuan Province from where the author draws elements of the plot. Had he been in the central China, he would have definitely faced persecution but the seclusion provided him time enough to set out for his spiritual pilgrimage.

The story takes the readers into the remote and past world of Oriental Spiritualism and philosophical abundance. Soul Mountain is , in real sense, a whole world in itself.

Shamanistic customs and traditions are still practiced in Sichuan Province. Xinjian incorporates into the novel his experiences with monks, folk-singers, and recluses, and so portrays the history and mythology of the people around him. Through Xingjian's writing, history and reality blend with mythology and the natural distortion of time, and perceptions of the past and present blend with history and folklore into one experiential moment.

Xingjian's writing appropriates Taoist concepts, according to which one pursues pure wisdom by exploring the paradoxes of truth. The contrast of truth and wisdom appears often in the book, especially when Xinjian discusses his earlier disillusionment upon discovering that his immersion in books did not endow him with wisdom, but rather prevented him from truly living.

The novel's perspective changes rapidly, the narrative voice shifting among first, second and third person. Each character's viewpoint reflects aspects of a single, fractured consciousness. Xinjian thus blurs the distinction between personal and social identities; his young female companion represents not only his desires but also the emerging sexual freedom that began to appear in the post-Mao era. Yet Xingjian's prose is enigmatic, and the novel's shifting perspective and style force the reader to search him in interpreting the story, and to question internal and social mores.

Despite its ambitious philosophical premise, Soul Mountain has a very straightforward plot, which centers on a spiritual journey that mirrors Xingjian's. The protagonist is meant to be a universal character, taking the forms of "I," "you," "he" and "she." By alternating the personal perspective from chapter to chapter, beginning one with "I" and the next with "you," Xinjian forces the reader to compare and contrast these two different facets of one self.

Undertaking its own Odyssey, this tale provides a detailed account of a modern journey. The main protagonist takes crowded trains, hitchhikes and travels on foot. He travels the hard way into the interior of China, often blown off of his path or staying longer than necessary in one place.

Further complicating the journey, the protagonist has a series of short-lived relationships with a series of women, always referred to as "she." The relations range from ephemeral to platonic to carnally real. Yet the sexuality that Xinjian explores in Soul Mountain has overtones of misogyny. Xinjian described one of the "she's as a "struggling wild animal" who "suddenly turns docile" with him. In Soul Mountain the understanding of women's sexuality remains undeveloped and so every "she" is objectified and thereby distorted.

Many images are culled from the protagonist's consciousness: "Ponds with floating duckweed, small town wine shops, windows of upstairs rooms overhanging the street, arched stone bridges, canopied boats passing under arched bridges and a dried up old well." In order to enhance his consciousness of his origins, he gains a sense of wisdom through childhood memories and through the collection of traditional lore, ranging from tales of bandits to an account of a monastery raid.

Just as the protagonist visits the past, he also ponders his fate. An enlightening encounter with death resonates with a personal crisis in Xingjian's past. In 1982, Xinjian was falsely diagnosed with cancer, which compelled him to reevaluate his life, seeking solace in the classic Confucianism text I Ch'ing or The Book of Changes. With personal insight, Xinjian vividly captures his protagonist's fearful wait for a fateful X-ray: "While awaiting the pronouncement of the death sentence, I was in this state of nothingness, looking at the autumn sun outside the window, silently intoning Namo Amitofu, over and over in my heart." The emotional and spiritual upheaval Xinjian underwent pushed him to question the very nature of his existence and the fruits of this journey are displayed in Soul Mountain.

Many stories collected along this journey involve cruelty. The first woman that he comes across describes her nausea before love, her constant suffering and her desire for a death that will cause others to pity and admire her, martyrdom. Hostile encounters in the novel seem to allude to Xingjian's experiences with the Chinese government. One story that directly addresses the Cultural Revolution involves the savage execution of political enemies of the radicals. However, the underlying currents of violence are oddly juxtaposed with the theme of spiritual growth, and the author never resolves whether any character can ever truly move beyond these atrocities. By refusing to tell his own story and simultaneously trying to relate universal themes, Xinjian exceeds the limits of his fiction. Constantly wavering between a quest for an individual enlightenment and an attempt to stir social consciousness, the story seems adrift. The story has the enigmatic power to enthrall the readers and keep them absorbed right from the beginning till the end, for the majority of the non-Chinese readers will remain submerged in exploring the mysteries of the unseen world.

Setting Personal Goals

Why go about setting personal goals?

What is all the fuss about setting personal goals? The majority of people have dreams in life. They dream to be to be successful, to be rich, to be happy, to live a healthy life, to be famous, to be a company CEO, to be a great statesman, to be a great sportsman/woman, to be a writer, etc. How many people actually get to live out their dreams?

Many people change their dreams to something that can be achieved easier. They create their dreams more in line with their talents and strengths. Some of them do reach their dreams, but many still do not.

Some people come to terms with the fact that their dreams are too implausible and therefore their dreams stay just that -- dreams. However, they seem to be happy with the fact that their dreams can take them out of the land of reality every now and then.

How can you be successful in reaching your dreams? You need to have personal goals in life to which you can strive and which will make it easier to seize the day, take action and achieve your dreams.

How do you go about setting personal goals?

Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals -- Aristotle

Before you start, you need to have a personal vision statement. Your personal vision statement will continuously jog your memory about where you desire to be at a particular time in the future. Thereafter you can start to set personal goals. Personal goals are specific, attainable objectives that you have to to attain at specific times in order to realize your dreams, i.e. your personal vision statement.

The best way to set your personal goals is to craft SMART goals:

S = Specific

A specific goal has a much better likelihood of being achieved than a broad goal. You have to answer the six W questions in order o set a specific goal:

Who: Who is involved?

What: What do I want to achieve?

Where: Identify a location.

When: Set up a time frame.

Which: Identify requirements and limitations.

Why: Offer specific reasons, purposes or advantages of achieving the goal.

M = Measurable

Produce tangible standards for gauging your advancement toward the achievement of each of your personal goals. If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. As you measure your progress, you will stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that encourages you to keep up the continued effort required to achieve your goal.

A = Attainable

If you set goals that are too far out of your reach, you would most probably not commit to doing in the end. However, a goal needs to stretch you slightly so you feel you can do it and it will need a real commitment from you.

R = Realistic

A realistic goal must correspond to an objective toward which you are both prepared and able to work.

T = Timely

You have to set a time frame for the goal. Putting an end indicator on your goal gives you a clear target to work towards. If you don't set a time frame, your commitment is going to be too fuzzy. Without a time limit, there's no pressure to start taking action immediately.

A goal properly set is halfway reached -- Abraham Lincoln
